Allowing Email From Friends & Family To Bypass The Filters |
|
|
Sometimes an email message is filtered out and blocked from reaching your inbox, even though the message is from a friend or a company you'd like to hear from. It's easy to add the sender's address to your Approved Senders list, thus allowing mail from that sender to automatically bypass the junk email filters. There are actually two ways to add an email address to your Approved Senders list. |

Approving Senders
From Within
The Message Center List Of Senders |

| 1. | Looking at the screen shot above, let's assume that you'd like all messages from Housewares@Clearance.Overstock.com to bypass the junk email filters (and to thus be sent to your email program's inbox). To do this, check-mark that message by mouse-clicking in the small white box to the left of the message. |
| 2. | Click on the Deliver button. This will take you to the Email Delivered page. |

| 3. | (Note: if the email address you want approved is from a mailing list, please refer to our instructions dealing specifically with mailing list addresses.) |
| 4. | Put a checkmark in the box next to the message from housewares@clearance.overstock.com. |
| 5. | Click on the Continue button. Housewares@clearance.overstock.com has now been added to your Approved Senders list. |

Approving Senders
Manually
|
| There may be times when you'd like to add a sender's address to your Approved Senders list, but because there's no message from the sender in your Message Center, you can't use the method described above. In such a case, here's what to do. |
| 6. | At your Message Center, click on the Junk Email Settings link. This will take you to the Junk Email ON-OFF page. |
| 7. | Notice that the email address housewares@clearance.overstock.com is already listed as an Approved Sender. This is because in step 4, above, we added that address to the Approved Senders list. |
| 8. |
Let's now assume that you'd like to add the email address billgates@microsoft.com to your Approved Senders list. Type that address into the top field in the Approved Senders area. |

| 9. | Click on the Save to List button. The billgates@microsoft.com address will appear in the Approved Senders list. |

Adding a Domain to
Your List of Approved Senders
|
| It's also possible to add a domain to your Approved Senders list. For instance, you could add the widget.com domain to the Approved Senders list. This will result in all widget.com addresses (for example, john@widget.com, info@widget.com, sally32@widget.com, and all other addresses at the widget.com domain) being added to your Approvel Senders list. Here's how to do it. |
| 10. | Type widget.com into the top field of the Approved Senders area. |

| 11. | Click on the Save to List button. The widget.com domain will appear in the Approved Senders list. |
